Draft, under legal review, not yet in force. This text explains how RoboBill works today. The final version will be published here before launch.

Terms of use and licence

The main terms of the RoboBill licence. The signed licence agreement will be shared with your licence.

Parties and software

These terms are between [Company name and registered address to be confirmed] ("we") and the business that installs RoboBill ("you"). They cover the RoboBill desktop software, the import tool, updates, the owner app and this website.

Licence

  • We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software for your own business, on the number of PCs and companies stated in your licence.
  • Moving to a new PC needs a new licence file, which we issue free of charge for hardware replacement. [limits on transfers to be confirmed]
  • You may not copy, resell, rent, reverse engineer or remove licence checks from the software, except as the law allows.

Your books are yours

  • All business data you enter or import belongs to you. We claim no right in it.
  • The software stores your data in files on your own computer. You can export it at any time: Excel, PDF, CSV, Tally XML and GST files are built in.
  • Billing never stops because of the licence. If your licence or AMC ends, you keep full use of the version you have, including printing and reports. Only updates and support stop.

Annual maintenance (AMC)

  • The first 12 months of updates and support are included. After that, updates and support need an AMC. [period to be confirmed]
  • Support covers help with use, printer setup and fixing defects. It does not cover data entry or hardware.

Optional online services

  • The owner app, cloud copy, WhatsApp and email summaries, scan-to-draft and e-invoice or e-way bill filing are optional and need you to switch them on. The privacy notice explains what they send.
  • Paid credits are non-refundable once used. [refund policy to be confirmed]

Your responsibilities

  • Keep backups. The software takes a nightly backup on the PC and reminds you to copy it to a USB drive; keeping copies off the PC is your responsibility.
  • You are responsible for the invoices and returns you issue and file. The software follows GST rules as notified, but you or your accountant must check returns before filing.

Warranty and liability

  • We fix defects reported during the AMC period within a reasonable time. [wording to be confirmed]
  • Our total liability is limited to the licence fee paid in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect losses, tax penalties arising from data you entered, or loss of data where no backup was kept. [to be confirmed]

Law and disputes

Indian law applies. Courts at [city to be confirmed] have jurisdiction.
